I have reread this multiple times when I just found it is so good I dont really watch? read? whatever homestuck but the writing is so good!
You're All I've Ever Known by holdyourbreathfornow . This is a hlvrai fic and please please someone else read this I love this fic!!! Holy shit I'm obbsessed I reread every other day tbh it is. So fucking good. Holy shit. the writer really popped off. Its an AU of hlvrai and to quote the description as it really describes it well "Gordon Freeman never worked for Black Mesa, instead working as a mercenary with the Science Team. When Black Mesa kidnaps him after they break in, Gordon isn't sure which of his memories are real or fake anymore." I also read their entire Family of three series. (another au) and everything this author makes that I've read is so fucking GOOOD.
Human Error by teeth_eater . It is a dream smp minecraft youtube fic au (I just realized most things so far on this page are aus LOL) and it is basically "humans are space orcs" Its SO GOOD. I have re read it multiple times. The first chapter of the second fic in the series is one of my faves alongside the entire Ranboo's interlude and I love this universe and I love the "humans are space orcs" trope. its fairly popular with fanfics of these fanfics but its is a goodie that I will ALWAYS reccomend for people looking to read something.
Ours Poetica by zeeskeit . It is a dream smp minecraft youtube fic au. It is so good it will make you cry. Its basically a poetry au and it made me have another poetry phase. I've written poems basically all my life but It really got me into poetry again. It is just. So fucking sad and angsty and it is a masterpiece. I love the poem "Punchline" that was written for this fic an animatic of that chapter from this fic got me into this fic. If anything read the poem it is so good!! I just. love this fic. A fic that was inspired by this fic is Try to Complicate my Thinking by Lorewashere it is also so so very fucking good. Fanfics of Ours poetica I've read multiple times are Writing Isn't The Only Way of Coping by Mun_Studios and Selfish Supernova by EvelynTheNinth_IX . 10/10. I don't really know what to say bout it because like their is only so many times i can say something is good?
decades-old letters to no one by pocketpauling . This is a fic that features suicidal thoughts and suicide notes. It is a very good stream of consciousness fic that reminds of what i remeber the start of 50 weeks, like how i remeber it from a writing pov as i wrote it? if that makes sense? its very nice and ive reread chapter two so many times holy shit it is so fucking pog. Its beautifully written an an artpiece that should be framed or something. Its very underrated imo.
but i can't really breathe up here by cxlesstial . This is an au, a mix of mermaid siren vampire type beat. Its well written and i really really like the story. I keep reading chapter one because the transformation scene makes me feel weird /pos things. It also makes me wonred about how i would feel if i became the sorta mermaid thing in this story, if i was transported into another place with no electronics or any way to access all the shit on the surface. I also think about a quote in chapter five. Spoilers for the story and idk how big it would impact the story if you knew the spoiler but this piece of dialouge: ""if he really wanted to die, he'd've found a way to do it no matter how many times we tried to stop him. you know that. i know that. he's made his choice. he wants to live."" makes me think so fucking much i have so much to say on this. Like. I could write a whole blog post of if i agree with this and my life experiences and how all of that relates to the story and the context of the scene and like. I will make a blog post about it. This makes me think. Also that scene with Gordons ex in chapter four makes me feel things.
The Heart is Hard to Translate by then00breturns1101 . THIS ONE. This one is so fucking good. I love the writing and its a wonderful fic that takes place post hlvrai. The art also adds alot to it i am obssessed with the characterization and its just all art. I reread all of it often but i reread Anything Worth This Feeling alot something about it just hits. also how benery is drawn in this it looks like me mentally. not like me physically/irl but like. me in my own head sometimes. you know the sepereation between body and you. its complicated and irrevlant.
late night calls in the dark by PurpleCatGhost This is a nice fic about Darnold, an underrated character in hlvrai (at least imo.) I really like it. Not much to say because i read it when i couldnt sleep one night and still havent reread it but. its pog! Idk what else to say it needs to stir in my head a bit more before i give a fuller thing. I think im running outta fuel to write things for this little reccomendation corner so.

Defining Home by piteouspeculiarity Back to fanfiction, Defining Home is an amazing series. This is an older fic, made and finished in 2020. I first read it while it was a work in progress and i always go back to reading it. This 50k word fic is worth anyones time. This is a story about abuse and escaping abuse, so be wary of that. Most of the content on this list is dark because coping.
Hlvrv The first ask blog on this list, this is an amazing hlvrai au that I love. The other ask blog on this list, y2kvr, i would recommend reading first but I think this can theoretically stand on its own. This au is where five gordons wake up on a ship together. I love ask blogs and its why I was first attracted to tumblr all those years ago.
The Heart Can Only Go So Far by Goldstone_Wolf This is apart of a bigger au but you dont need to read it to understand it. This is a good fic, the au content might make it a bit confusing but you can connect the dots yourself easily. It appears to be a dsmp but its all actors au? A very meta version in which the roleplay characters are actors or something that act out the plot of the dsmp and they also all live together and its found family. Not really relevant to the fic but its mentioned and might explain some things. I read other works in this series and its cool, havent read anything but this one in awhile so I might add more fics from this series here.
the rainbow connection by HaloRocks1214 The first fic in this two fic series is ICONIC imo. The first fic is a very very good fic in which Tommy ends up ending up in Florida by chance after he got kicked out by this abusive parents. The first fic is a masterpiece i reread and this classic apparently has a sequel that I havent fully read yet but its good so far! If you have to read anything, read the first fic from this series at least. Worth the time imo.
I think I kinda hate summer by IDontKnowWhyIAm This fic is a really good and intersting fic based on the vocaloid song Kagerou Daze. I love this fic and it has an amazing plot, I love the song that this fic is inspired by and I cant wait to see this updated. As of writing this recomendation is has four amazing chapters.
cough syrup by shrugofgod Shrugofgod writes masterpieces and this is one I love to reread. Its a 5 + 1 fic. The descrption of this fic puts its perfectly "It’s an accident, is what Ranboo tells himself.
The experiments are not supposed to be dangerous. They’re just supposed to… scare him, sometimes, that’s all. He just hasn’t found a better way into the enderwalk yet. He doesn’t want to forcefully get rid of the enderwalk, or get rid of himself, or hurt himself, or anything like that. The experiments are just so he can understand.
This one was an outlier.

taller by shrugofgod a lovely fic that is where Ranboo and Tommy talk, it is classified as a "missing scene" and a masterpiece.
dissonance by shrugofgod DISSONANCE. I LOVE THIS FIC. Its a Tubbo centric masterpiece!!! Tubbo is written perfectly here and it is an amazing must read character study, I love this fic and its one of those fics that everyone should read.
101 way to kill yourself- Ethoslab approved methods by 420_im_lonely A very good series, The writer is amazing and I cant wait to see it continued. The fics in the series are almost all or are all oneshots that are very good.
i can be the one you call by mayflowers07 to quote a part of the description of the series "The Hermits have a code phrase. If spoken, this phrase acts as an emergency safe word, telling everyone to stop whatever they’re doing, because something is seriously wrong. Whether it’s from physical or emotional distress, all Hermits know that when someone uses the code, they need help from their chaotic, dysfunctional family." I dont really watch hermitcraft and I havent watched season 7, where this fic takes place, and this series still holds up really well! I love this series and i reread many many fics in the series its exellent and worth your time.
the more you know, the less you see by acatalepsy an old fic that I LOVE. Its about abuse and disordered eating caused by the parents. It has a happy ending with friends intervening and helping Ranboo escape his parents. His parents arent abusive irl, that disclaimer comes for all the fics about the abuse and shit. Fiction isnt real life. Anyways, I love the conversation over the phone with Phil, i think about that part of the fic ALOT.
He might as well be dying by Jura_lyn This is a fic where Tommy is abused. Its a very good and well written fic. I read alot about abuse as you can see, this has a good ending where he escapes his parents. I have mixed feelings about a major plot point of this fic, tommys parents lock him in his room for months, and that whole bit is. eh. I have Feelings. Not positive. Otherwise its good.
Chained by faith, don't let go by Jura_lyn This is a good fic where Tommy attempts suicide.
Deep, Dark Sound by tealgreenhealingbeam This is a good fanfiction, you dont need to read the previous fics to understand this one and you dont need to ship the characters that are together (in this case Benrey/Tommy Coolatta/Darnold/Gordon Freeman) to read this fic. Basically each member of the polycule has a nightmare and thats how the ship works in favour of this fic and why imo you dont need to ship them to read it, its a good format.
